What happens when you take some of the best basketball players in America and try to take away their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches? Outrage, that’s what!

Recently the Golden State Warriors – one of the best teams in the NBA – decided they needed the support of a few new trainers to improve the fitness of the team. The trainers suggested reducing the amount of sugar in their diets…which meant cutting out the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The players responded with an overwhelming “No way!”

Here are some points from an article published on the topic:

  • The trainers wanted to cut back sugar on the team’s private plane, and the players agreed to give up soda, cookies and candy.
  • What they could not give up was…you guessed it, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
  • Not only were the players in support of holding on to their sugary bread snacks, General Manager Bob Myers is also a big fan of PB&Js.
  • The Warriors are still making sacrifices. In addition to the soda, cookies and candy, they aren’t eating postgame pizzas anymore and are trading in Gatorade for water with Himalayan rock salt.
